The Neem Gauria Kshetrapal Temple, located to the south of the sacred Jacob Talab in the historic city of Bhinmal, holds deep cultural and spiritual significance. Known locally as the Neem Gauria Bhairav, the temple is dedicated to the Kshetrapal Yaksha, the divine protector of the city, revered as Khetlaji. The origins of the temple date back to Vikram Samvat 1425 (1369 AD), as evidenced by inscriptions found at the site. According to local tradition, the idol of Khetlaji was discovered during the excavation of the Jakob Talab.

The temple houses a pillar-shaped idol of Neem Gauria Bhairav Dev, intricately carved with four divine images. These include the figure of Neem Gauria Bhairav, the powerful goddess Kshemankari Mataji in the form of a trident, a pair of Nag-Nagin (serpent couple), and the revered Hanuman Ji, creating an aura of divine protection and blessings.

In addition to these deities, the temple also enshrines a Panchmukhi Shiva Lingam. This five-faced Shiva Lingam is a unique and rare form, with four Shiva Lingams oriented towards the four cardinal directions and the fifth facing upwards towards the sky. While most visitors easily spot the four visible faces of the Shiva Lingam, only upon closer observation can they see the fifth face, symbolizing the connection to the heavens. Historically, this Panchmukhi Shiva Lingam was known as Kashyapeshwar Mahadev, named after the sage Kashyap, whose intense penance led to the manifestation of the divine lingam.

Recently, a new temple has been constructed on the site, replacing the older structure. In 2016, the temple was beautifully renovated, with a grand consecration ceremony marking its rebirth. The new temple, with its majestic entrance donated by Shri Sukharaj Baboolalji Nahar, continues to attract devotees from all over Bhinmal and beyond.

The Neem Gauria Kshetrapal Temple is a place of unity, revered by followers of Sanatan Dharma and many Jain communities alike. It stands as a symbol of protection, prosperity, and the divine blessings that have watched over the city for centuries.
